BILTON AJAX JFC FOOTBALL DEVELOPMENT SQUAD

F.A STANDARD CHARTER

Bilton Ajax run a football development squad every Saturday morning from 9:30 until 11:00 at Old Laurentians Rugby Club, Lime Tree Ave. The sessions are for 6 - 12 year old boys and girls and are taken by Ian Weaving.

Each individual player takes part in a coaching program that focuses on the learning of technical skills needed to play the game. Bilton Ajax hope that the players that take part in the sessions will eventually play for the club, starting at U9 level. If there are any young players out there who would like to learn more about football (especially those who would be interested in playing at U9 next season) then please turn up at the O.L’s  at 9:25 am for registration, the cost is £3 per morning.

The Bilton Ajax

Football Development Squad

The aims of the Bilton Ajax Football Development Squad are as follows:

· To introduce players between 5 years and 12 years to football through professional Coaching.

· To coach and encourage the development of skill and teamwork, and through it, gain greater satisfaction from the game.

· To promote the principles of sporting behaviour, respect and good manners on and off the pitch.

· To introduce players and their parents to Bilton Ajax Junior Football Club.

How?

Our philosophy is to fit the sport to the child.

· Small-sided games with: 3 vs. 3, 4 vs. 4 and 5 vs. 5, played on small pitches (30 x 20 yards) with small goals and small footballs.

· Fun through playing fun games with or without the ball allowing the children to learn through play.

· Coaching at this stage is basic, demonstrating single skills and allowing the children to try for themselves.

Discipline

Football is a team sport involving:

· Working with others.

· Accepting and understanding each other’s strengths & limitations.

· Competing against others.

We will encourage good attitudes towards each other and to the coaching sessions in general.

Ground Rules

We all need to listen and consequently, learn.

· Only one person speaks at a time.

· Bad language will not be tolerated.

· Disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated.

· Offenders will not be allowed to take part in future sessions.

Parents

Parents and friends are vital for the running of the club. As parents, you are required to:

· Please ensure you deliver your child into the care of one of our professional Coaches. Please DO NOT “drop & drive off”; the session may have been cancelled.

· Similarly, please ensure you actually collect your child from the Coach at the end of the session. Please be there on time.

· Please arrive on time. We start at 9.30am, please be there to register at 9.15am

· Pay your child’s subscription fee of £3.00 per week.

· Support and encourage the children.

· Do not expect too much from your child. Do not put your child under pressure. Football should, above all, be FUN.

· Consider helping out with refereeing and other tasks. Become qualified (Bilton Ajax will sponsor you through an FA Level One Coaching Course)
