Goals, Goals, Goals

What a weekend for Ajax teams with lot’s of goals being scored at both ends of the pitch for our teams. The Under 9’s kicked off Saturday at the wrong end of an 8 - 0 score line, however despite the goals conceded the team can hold their heads up high for never giving up throughout the game. A little rub of the green will soon see them finding their scoring boots. The Under 10 Juniors had a weekend off and got some valuable training in, while the Colts travelled away to face Kenilworth Wardens Falcons in a League Cup tie and get themselves into the hat for the next round with a credible 5 - 3 victory, Their first official win of the season. The under 11’s travelled to St. Peters Celtic and came home with their first points of the season winning 5 - 1. It was a different story for the under 12’s who struggled to put out the bare 11 players and when one had to be taken off with an injured ankle and with no substitutes available the floodgates opened eventually losing 15 - 0 at home to Wellsbourne Wanderers. A match report can be found Here. The under 13’s showed how to play as a team with no fewer than 5 players getting on the scoresheet in an exciting 9 -2 victory against Woodloes. A match report can be found Here. The under 14’s travelled to Leamington to take on Khalsa and recorded a record score for their squad of 10 - 2 with the George twins scoring 7 between them. A match report is Here. The under 16’s travelled to Woodloes Colts and had a familiar score line losing for the third time in a row 3 - 1, and finally the Youth side played at Coventry Aces but despite scoring 2 goals lost the game 4 - 2.
Who’s Playing Where?
Saturday morning kick’s off the weekends games with the Under 9’s taking on Kenilworth Town at Limetree Avenue. The Under 10 Juniors get a weekend off but are safely through to the next round of the league cup after getting a bye in this round. The under 10 colts face an away cup tie against Kenilworth Warden Falcons. The under 11’s team travel to St. Peters Celtic Colts while the under 12 team take on Wellesbourne Wanderers at Alwyn Road. Something for the Weekend Sir?
The weekend kicks off on Saturday Morning at Lime Tree Avenue with the Under 9’s taking on St. Peters Celtic hoping to get their first league win. The Under 10 juniors are also at home to start a belated kick off to the season after last weeks game at Norton Lindsey was called off due to the pitch being water logged. The Colts make an away trip to take on Central Ajax Colts. The Under 11’s are also away taking a trip to play Snitterfield Colts on Sunday afternoon. The under 12’s take on Alveston at Alwyn road. The Under 13’s also get a late start to the season with a home tie against Wellesbourne Wanderers. The Under 14’s make the short trip to Southam to take on Southam town while the under 15’s are at home to Leamington Brakes on Sunday Morning. Good Luck to all our teams and let’s hope the results match last weeks performances.
Good Performances but wrong results
Not a good start to the season results wise for most of our teams. The Under 10 Juniors had their game called off at Norton Lindsey due to a waterlogged pitch while the under 10 Colts beat Woodford United 6 -2 but had to count the game as a friendly due to registration complications. A match report can be found HERE. The Under 11’s were unlucky to be on the end of a 3 - 0 defeat against a side made up of last seasons top two teams. Read about it HERE. The Under 12’s found themselves on the wrong end of an 11 goal thriller. Match report is HERE. Both the Under 13’s and Under 15’s were unable to play due to unforeseen circumstances. The under 16’s and Youth teams were both unlucky to be the losing teams, 3 - 1 and 3 - 2 the scores respectively. The under 16’s started off strongly against Kenilworth Town and could consider themselves unlucky to go a goal behind. Ajax were awarded a penalty to equal the scoreline and despite being the stronger team for much of the game conceded two further goals. In an exciting match at Alwyn Road on Sunday morning Ajax Youth squad went 3 - 0 down before getting goals back through Chris Fairwood from the penalty spot and Ryan Murch taking the game to an exciting climax and Ajax can consider themselves unlucky not to have taken all 3 points.
Fancy a Game.
This weekend sees the kick-off of the Mid-Warwickshire Junior football League and the belated start to the John Bryan League. The Under 9’s start their first ever season with an away tie against Banbury Irish on Saturday 13th, Under 10 juniors also start the campaign with an away tie against Norton Lindsey Colts. The Under 10 Colts however have a home tie v Woodford United, both the under 10 teams play their games on Saturday. On Sunday the Under 11’s are at home to Leamington Juniors, the Under 12’s take on Balsall & Berkswell Colts away. The Under 13’s take on St. Peters Celtic away. The Under 14’s take on local rivals Hillmorton Juniors in what looks to be a thriller at Alwyn Road. The Under 15’s are at home to Coventry Celtic Supporters, while the Under 16’s start at home to Kenilworth Town. Last but not least the Youth team take on Kenilworth Wardens away.
