Saturday 13 September
Bilton Ajax 6 v 2 Woodford United
This game was played as a friendly due to unforeseen circumstances. After all the training during the summer break, Ajax put on a display to be proud of. They attacked from the start with Elliott Manning dribbling past players with his fancy footwork. Both the Bens, Pell and Smith found space up front to cause Woodford all sorts of trouble. Elliott was first onto the score sheet with a left foot goal. Woodford responded with a goal of their own, but then the flood gates opened. Jamie White scored virtually as soon as he came on, and then Ben Smith joined the action with a goal.
The Second half was a replay of the first with Jamie getting a quick goal. Ajax swamped Woodford and Luke Angel’s shot took a deflection and added another goal for Ajax. Ajax spent most of the time surrounding Woodfords goal and were caught out by Woodford who scored another goal. Elliott Manning did some twisting and turning to score one more.
Saturday 20th September
Central Ajax juniors 4 v 3 Bilton Ajax Colts
Central Ajax’s pitch was very small but it provided for a thrilling match between two very competitive teams. Central scored first but Bilton kept battling with Will Craggs working hard in midfield. Bilton’s hard work paid off with Jamie white scoring a superb volley from Elliott Manning’s cross. Central scored two more goals to leave Bilton chasing again. Man of the match Ben Smith then scored twice in quick succession for Bilton to draw level.
Central then scored from their own half which sealed the victory for them. Bilton never gave up though; and were lead by example with captain Bradley Morgan as usual put in some very hard tackles. Ben Pell also impressed with some intelligent football on the left wing. When Bilton passed the ball around they were very dominant but too many Bilton players were forgetting to pass!

League Cup Preliminary Round
Kenilworth Warden Falcons 3 – 5 Bilton Ajax Colts
A good result for Ajax in this first round of the cup matches. Defender Tom Morrell put Ajax one up with a fifteen yard shot after a deflected corner kick. Ben Pell closely followed with a good number two. A surprise break from Kenilworth gave them their first but a cross from Jamie White allowed Ben Pell to hit the back of the Kenilworth net again just before half time. Kenilworth started the second half with a quick break which pulled them another one back. Will Craggs passing skills led to goal number four for Ajax but a defence mistake led to a Kenilworth number three. Still battling though Elliot Manning’s cross helped Jamie White to crack a convincing winner home. Jamie White was given man of the match for his constant effort.
Saturday 4th October 2008
Bilton Ajax Colts 2 – 5 Radford Rangers
Not a good start for Bilton at home this week. Despite hard tackling from defender Bradley Morgan, a cracking fifteen yard free kick and some good breaks saw Radford Rangers four goals up by half time. Un-deterred Bilton started to battle hard in the second half. A corner kick from Elliott Manning and a scramble in the Radford box allowed Tom Morrell to pull one back for Bilton. Although behind Bilton were the better team in the second half and were rewarded with another goal from Tom Morrell which again was set up from a right cross from Elliott Manning. Radford were not finished though, another break gave them their fifth just before the end.

Norton Lindsey 2- 2 Bilton Ajax Colts Under 10’s
A good performance by Bilton Ajax against a strong side. Bilton Ajax striker Jamie White set up the first goal with a lovely cross which was finished off by newcomer Isaac Rabone.
The second goal again came from Isaac Rabone, this proving he deserves a regular place in the colt’s squad. In the first half Norton Lindsey had some good breaks which tested Bilton's fearless defence but when Norton broke through just before half time a sure goal was denied by a courageous save by man of the match keeper Ben Smith.
The second half showed good football from both sides resulting in Norton pulling a goal back quite quickly. Midfielder Elliott Manning put a shot just wide after a cleverly co-ordinated one two break with Jamie White. A rare unlucky back pass gave Norton the equalizer in the last minute.
Saturday 18th October 2008
Kenilworth Wardens 2 – 12 Bilton Ajax Colts Under 10’s
Double goal figures shows that good hard training pays off this week with an outstanding show of football by Bilton Ajax. Elliott Manning put away his first goal from a fifteen yard free kick. This was followed by a goal from top striker Jamie White after cracking ball skills broke through Wardens defence. Confidence showed in midfield who went forward when needed and came back to help defend as well. This mixed with great passing between all players gave in the end Jamie White five goals, Isaac Rabone three and Elliott Manning four. Although goals down, Wardens didn't give up. They pulled two goals back and credit goes to their goalie who showed full commitment throughout the game. Bilton's under 10's management came away proud of their boys and hope they keep enjoying what we do. Thanks.

Bilton Ajax Colts 1 – 1 Stratford Wanderers
A fair end result to a very exciting match. The start of the first half was going well for Bilton who seemed to have most of the possession, but Stratford soon found their feet and showed good passing skills which ended with the first goal. Stratford played a good defensive game, but Bilton were unlucky in fighting back when three separate shots hit the posts.
The second half again showed great football from both teams, but determination paid off for Bilton with an equalizer from Isaac Rabone after a scramble in the box. Both teams had their fair share of quick breaks and shots, but a combination of good forward and defensive play saw this exciting game end in a draw.

Henley Forest 1 - 0 Bilton Ajax Colts
Fast football, hard tackling and determination made this match enjoyable to watch. The first half saw both teams with a fair share of the ball but Henley's strong forwards broke through to give them the only goal of the match. Henley had more chances at goal but Bilton's midfield seem to have realised that getting back to help defend pays off. This was helped by the ever fearless goalie Ben Smith who saved Bilton's skin more than once.. Bilton played better in the second half with some nice ball skills from all. Henley were good at noticing our danger men Elliott Manning and Jamie White and whenever they got the ball they were swamped with hard tackles. Although Bilton had their chances Henley's defence couldn't be cracked....This time.

Bilton Ajax Colts 2 v 6 Balsall and Berkswell Common
League Cup 1st Round
This was always going to be a tough round of the cup for Ajax against a team that won the league last year. Ajax certainly put up strong resistance to a surging Balsall side put in the end the score reflected the level of Balsall's dominance. Ajax were allowing Balsall to press them deep into their own half and Balsall’s striker capitalized on any chances. At half time the score was 4 – 1 to Balsall. The second half was better for Ajax as they started to push back and venture into Balsall’s half much more, this slowed Balsall and presented Ajax with a few more chances.
The best bit of football actually came from Ajax with a good back pass from Elliott Manning to Bradley Morgan who showed great skill and vision by chipping the ball into space for Elliott to run onto. Elliott then passed to Jamie White who scored his second goal of the day.

Bilton Ajax Juniors 1 v 7 Bilton Ajax Colts
Juniors started strong in this match and the Colts took a few minutes to settle into their stride. Will Craggs showed some pace on the right side and soon Ben Pell had put Colts 1 up. Oliver Woodcock played with great composure in defence enabling Colts to counter attack regularly. Will Craggs scored a well deserved goal to go into half time 2 nil up.
At the start of the second half the Juniors netted a goal back, but then the goals came thick and fast from the Colts. Isaac Rabone got his hat trick, Luke Angel popped up to net 1 and Elliott Manning scored from a corner again. The score could have been a lot higher for the Colts had it not been for Jack Unett in goal for the Juniors. Another player that caused the Colts problems was Fabrizio Paglianni.
Saturday 29th November 2008
Bilton Ajax Colts 2 v 5 Lawford United Under 10’s
Ajax played some very stylish football in this match but Lawford were far more consistent and deserved the win. Lawford scored first but then gave away a silly penalty which was scored with some panache by Elliott Manning. Lawford scored again to go into the break 2- 1 up.
At the start of the second half Ajax lost their composure and Lawford scored 3 in quick succession. Ajax regrouped and started to get the upper hand which finally was converted into a goal by Elliott Manning following a pass from Ben Pell. In truth the score could have been a lot worse had it not been for Ben Smith in goal.
When Ajax are given space to play a passing game they are very good but they cannot play well when closed down quickly; if they can improve this part of their game they will be a top team!

Banbury Irish 5-2 Bilton Ajax Colts
Supplementary Cup 1st Round
This week’s result is not a good reflection of the football quality played by Bilton Colts. The first half was dominated by Bilton with a great display of passing skills between all players from defence right through to strikers. Will Craggs scored first for Bilton and Isaac Rabone hit the back of the net soon after to put Bilton two up at half time.
The second half started to see a bit of frustration from Banbury Irish with some borderline tackles going in that seemed to be overlooked by the referee. Banbury scored their first goal with a break from a fast running forward and then a second from a penalty. In my view and the well placed linesman, Bilton did score another goal but it the referee said no. Bilton seemed to be a bit disheartened with the decision. Banbury continued well and scored three more times.
For the first time in my role as coach at Bilton I had to express my feelings towards the referee's decisions. The final score doesn't matter to me as long as the kids enjoy what they do. Fairness is my main objective.

Woodford United 1- 2 Bilton Ajax Colts
After a long break over Christmas it was good to see the Colts start 2009 with a strong performance and a well deserved win. It certainly was no walk over for Ajax though, as Woodford are a vastly improved team. Elliott Manning scored early in the first half for Ajax which allowed them to settle into a comfortable passing game which has become their trade mark.
Just after half time an own goal from the otherwise outstanding keeper, Ben Smith brought Woodford level. Ajax kept cool and kept opening the field up with some excellent passing from Bradley Morgan and Will Craggs. This eventually led to Ben Pell scoring following a beautiful chip from Isaac Rabone. It was pleasing to watch the lads putting into practise the lesson they have learnt in training, and they thoroughly deserved the win.
Saturday 24th January 2008
Bilton Ajax Colts 4 - 3 Central Ajax
Bilton Ajax took on the league leaders this week at home, and after a great display of tactical football they came away with a deserved win.
Will Craggs and Isaac Rabone both scored during the first half which seemed to lift Bilton's game and confident play soon started to show.
Central Ajax made frequent fast breaks, but hard defending and as usual superb goalkeeping from Bilton denied Central any goals in the first half.
Central started the second half strong and scored two goals quickly to bring them level. Still determined Bilton battled on and after some lovely one two,s and well placed through balls Tom Morrell scored to put Bilton ahead again. Biltons fourth goal soon followed when a well placed corner kick was then left foot volleyed into the back of the net by Morrell again.
Central managed to score one more goal just before full time.

Radford United 1-3 Bilton Ajax Colts
Bilton played this game with no subs and are thankful to Radford for lending us a pair of shin pads. The whole game was fast flowing with great passing from Bilton's defence right through to the forwards. Radford were dangerous with some fast breaks but struggled to find a way through due to Bilton players getting back to help in defence.Bilton's Elliott Manning scored his first after a coordinated one two with Luke Angel.
In the second half Radford scored a cracking goal from a well placed corner. Heads high Bilton played as a team pushing forward all the time, this resulting in another goal for Elliott Manning. After this Radford started to swamp Bilton's forwards but Isaac Rabone pushed through to put another one in the net. The last three minutes saw Bilton play strong to secure the win.

Bilton Ajax Colts 4 v 1 Bilton Ajax Juniors Under 10’s
A stylish performance by Colts against a determined Junior side provided an exciting Derby. The Juniors started strong and caught the Colts off guard. A nice through ball to Quincey Garcia was powered home, to give the juniors a one goal lead. The Colts used their fast passing game to great effect and equalized quickly with Jamie White netting his first.
The second half found the Colts beginning to take control of the game. Fabrizio Pagliarini battled hard in midfield for the Juniors but the passing skills of the Colts quashed his constant threat. Isaac Rabone showed alertness when he scored following a fine corner kick from Elliott Manning. Isaac and Jamie finished off a good day by both netting another goal each to end the day 4 – 1 to the Colts.

Bilton Ajax Colts 3-1 Banbury Irish
A passing game by the Colts against a determined Banbury Irish team made for an exciting game. Bilton Ajax started strong and soon put their passing together with a through ball from Elliot Manning which was put in by Isaac Rabone to give the Colts a one nil lead. Banbury Irish attacked at every chance but was kept at bay with a solid defence from Bradley Morgan and Jamie White. The Colts used their fast passing game to great effect and Isaac soon scored the second to give a two nil lead .The continued attacks from Banbury Irish were defended well and a fine performance from Tom Morrell in midfield and Ben Smith in goal kept them at bay. Banbury Irish persisted and scored an excellent headed goal from a corner. Bilton Ajax restarted and continued to play their passing game and were rewarded with a third goal by Isaac making the score line 3-1 to Ajax with a great team performance displayed.

Banbury Irish 2-3 Bilton Ajax Colts
Following the recent home game between these two teams (which Bilton Ajax Colts won) this match was going to be an exciting one and it certainly lived up to all expectations. A determined Banbury Irish team right from the start came out with an attacking field and quickly made it 1-0 to Banbury Irish. Bilton Ajax started to put their passing together and from a superb free kick from Jamie White it was 1-1. Banbury Irish continued to push forward and scored their second goal which was well executed from their number seven to again take the lead. With continued pressure from Bilton Ajax a well placed through ball Isaac Rabone scored to make it 2-2 at half time. Bilton continued with their passing game in the second half and with strong defending from Bradley Morgan and Jamie White coupled with a strong midfield performance from Tom Morrell and Will Craggs was more than enough to keep Banbury Irish at bay. With an excellent individual run from Elliot Manning to leave his opponents standing and a great through ball to Isaac Rabone who volleyed in his second to end the game with a well deserved win and a great team effort for the Colts.

Bilton Ajax Colts 4-2 Norton Lindsay Under 10’s
Ajax started strong and never eased up during this mid week encounter. Norton Lindsay battled hard in midfield but the passing from Tom Morrell and Ben Pell proved too much for them. Elliott Manning opened the scoring for Ajax quite early and then Jamie White popped up in the area for a corner to score again just before half time.
Elliott scored twice in the second half following two brilliant individual runs. It wasn’t all Ajax’s way as Norton made a break and scored on the counter attack. The biggest difference between the teams was probably down to Ben Smith in Goal for Ajax who denied Norton on many occasions. Ajax are now playing as a tight cohesive team and richly deserve their recent good run. Ajax are now strong in every position from the keeper through to the striker.

Stratford Wanderers 1-3 Bilton Ajax Colts Under 10’s
It was a pleasure to watch an excellent game played by two skilful teams today. Both sides worked the ball around the pitch and played hard but fair football. Ajax deserved to be two goals ahead at half time having had the greater number of chances. The first goal was a cracking long range shot from Bradley Morgan. The second came via Ben Pell who shows a natural poachers talent in front of goal.
The second half started with Stratford attacking strongly and they soon found the back of Ajax’s net. The Colts regrouped though and Jamie White headed home the decider from an Elliott Manning corner kick. The Colts almost got another shortly afterwards when Oliver Woodcock broke free and only a superb save from Stratford’s keeper denied him a goal. Both Ajax and Stratford can feel proud of the display of football they produced today.
Wednesday 22nd April 2009
Whitnash Town 0-1 Bilton Ajax
Whitnash played some outstanding football from the kick off to the final whistle, but were up against an Ajax team that is really starting to gel as a team. Will Craggs and Tom Morrell in midfield for Ajax were linking some beautiful passes together. Isaac Rabone upfront battled hard against Whitnash’s defenders and was a constant threat. After a hard fought first half the score was nil-nil.
The second half started well for Ajax as Jamie White thundered the ball home. It was now a matter of holding a resurgent Whitnash at bay until the final whistle. Whitnash had a couple of very fast and difficult players that took all of Ajax’s resolve to keep from scoring. Bradley Morgan, not for the first time this season, made plenty of crucial tackles in defence and eventually the game ended with another victory for Ajax.
Saturday 25th April 2009
Admirals 1-2 Bilton Ajax
Admirals had recently been crowned division two winners and so took this match as an opportunity to try out some different formations for next season, which probably played into Ajax’s hands. Ajax started quickly and were passing the ball around well in midfield between Will Craggs and Luke Angel. Ben Pell’s pace was putting the Admirals defence under a lot of pressure which resulted in Jamie White hammering home a loose ball from just outside the Admirals area. Admirals big number 6 responded by having a few cracking shots at Ajax’s goal but was denied by goalie Ben Smith every time. Jamie White scored again for Ajax making him their top goal scorer this season. Admirals were given a boost when their number 6 finally scored after taking on several Ajax players. Unfortunately he was injured shortly after scoring and had to go off.
Admirals made a lot of changes for the second half and started to get the upper hand. Bradley Morgan battled, tackled, intercepted and shielded for all his worth in defence to keep Admirals from scoring again. Ajax’s Elliott Manning playing in goal for the second half made some good saves and now tells anyone who will listen that he kept a clean sheet! The game ended 2 – 1 to Ajax which rounded off a good season for both teams. Well done lads!
