Bilton Ajax 6 v 2 Woodford United
This game was played as a friendly due to unforeseen circumstances. After all the training during the summer break, Ajax put on a display to be proud of. They attacked from the start with Elliott Manning dribbling past players with his fancy footwork. Both the Bens, Pell and Smith found space up front to cause Woodford all sorts of trouble. Elliott was first onto the score sheet with a left foot goal. Woodford responded with a goal of their own, but then the flood gates opened. Jamie White scored virtually as soon as he came on, and then Ben Smith joined the action with a goal.
The Second half was a replay of the first with Jamie getting a quick goal. Ajax swamped Woodford and Luke Angel’s shot took a deflection and added another goal for Ajax. Ajax spent most of the time surrounding Woodfords goal and were caught out by Woodford who scored another goal. Elliott Manning did some twisting and turning to score one more.

Central Ajax juniors 4 v 3 Bilton Ajax Colts
Central Ajax’s pitch was very small but it provided for a thrilling match between two very competitive teams. Central scored first but Bilton kept battling with Will Craggs working hard in midfield. Bilton’s hard work paid off with Jamie white scoring a superb volley from Elliott Manning’s cross. Central scored two more goals to leave Bilton chasing again. Man of the match Ben Smith then scored twice in quick succession for Bilton to draw level.
Central then scored from their own half which sealed the victory for them. Bilton never gave up though; and were lead by example with captain Bradley Morgan as usual put in some very hard tackles. Ben Pell also impressed with some intelligent football on the left wing. When Bilton passed the ball around they were very dominant but too many Bilton players were forgetting to pass!

League Cup Preliminary Round
Kenilworth Warden Falcons 3 – 5 Bilton Ajax Colts
A good result for Ajax in this first round of the cup matches. Defender Tom Morrell put Ajax one up with a fifteen yard shot after a deflected corner kick. Ben Pell closely followed with a good number two. A surprise break from Kenilworth gave them their first but a cross from Jamie White allowed Ben Pell to hit the back of the Kenilworth net again just before half time. Kenilworth started the second half with a quick break which pulled them another one back. Will Craggs passing skills led to goal number four for Ajax but a defence mistake led to a Kenilworth number three. Still battling though Elliot Manning’s cross helped Jamie White to crack a convincing winner home. Jamie White was given man of the match for his constant effort.

Bilton Ajax Colts 2 – 5 Radford Rangers
Not a good start for Bilton at home this week. Despite hard tackling from defender Bradley Morgan, a cracking fifteen yard free kick and some good breaks saw Radford Rangers four goals up by half time. Un-deterred Bilton started to battle hard in the second half. A corner kick from Elliott Manning and a scramble in the Radford box allowed Tom Morrell to pull one back for Bilton. Although behind Bilton were the better team in the second half and were rewarded with another goal from Tom Morrell which again was set up from a right cross from Elliott Manning. Radford were not finished though, another break gave them their fifth just before the end.

Norton Lindsey 2- 2 Bilton Ajax Colts Under 10’s
A good performance by Bilton Ajax against a strong side. Bilton Ajax striker Jamie White set up the first goal with a lovely cross which was finished off by newcomer Isaac Rabone.
The second goal again came from Isaac Rabone, this proving he deserves a regular place in the colt’s squad. In the first half Norton Lindsey had some good breaks which tested Bilton's fearless defence but when Norton broke through just before half time a sure goal was denied by a courageous save by man of the match keeper Ben Smith.
The second half showed good football from both sides resulting in Norton pulling a goal back quite quickly. Midfielder Elliott Manning put a shot just wide after a cleverly co-ordinated one two break with Jamie White. A rare unlucky back pass gave Norton the equalizer in the last minute.

Kenilworth Wardens 2 – 12 Bilton Ajax Colts Under 10’s
Double goal figures shows that good hard training pays off this week with an outstanding show of football by Bilton Ajax. Elliott Manning put away his first goal from a fifteen yard free kick. This was followed by a goal from top striker Jamie White after cracking ball skills broke through Wardens defence. Confidence showed in midfield who went forward when needed and came back to help defend as well. This mixed with great passing between all players gave in the end Jamie White five goals, Isaac Rabone three and Elliott Manning four. Although goals down, Wardens didn't give up. They pulled two goals back and credit goes to their goalie who showed full commitment throughout the game. Bilton's under 10's management came away proud of their boys and hope they keep enjoying what we do. Thanks.

Bilton Ajax Colts 1 – 1 Stratford Wanderers
A fair end result to a very exciting match. The start of the first half was going well for Bilton who seemed to have most of the possession, but Stratford soon found their feet and showed good passing skills which ended with the first goal. Stratford played a good defensive game, but Bilton were unlucky in fighting back when three separate shots hit the posts.
The second half again showed great football from both teams, but determination paid off for Bilton with an equalizer from Isaac Rabone after a scramble in the box. Both teams had their fair share of quick breaks and shots, but a combination of good forward and defensive play saw this exciting game end in a draw.

Henley Forest 1 - 0 Bilton Ajax Colts
Fast football, hard tackling and determination made this match enjoyable to watch. The first half saw both teams with a fair share of the ball but Henley's strong forwards broke through to give them the only goal of the match. Henley had more chances at goal but Bilton's midfield seem to have realised that getting back to help defend pays off. This was helped by the ever fearless goalie Ben Smith who saved Bilton's skin more than once.. Bilton played better in the second half with some nice ball skills from all. Henley were good at noticing our danger men Elliott Manning and Jamie White and whenever they got the ball they were swamped with hard tackles. Although Bilton had their chances Henley's defence couldn't be cracked....This time.

Bilton Ajax Colts 2 v 6 Balsall and Berkswell Common
League Cup 1st Round
This was always going to be a tough round of the cup for Ajax against a team that won the league last year. Ajax certainly put up strong resistance to a surging Balsall side put in the end the score reflected the level of Balsall's dominance. Ajax were allowing Balsall to press them deep into their own half and Balsall’s striker capitalized on any chances. At half time the score was 4 – 1 to Balsall. The second half was better for Ajax as they started to push back and venture into Balsall’s half much more, this slowed Balsall and presented Ajax with a few more chances.
The best bit of football actually came from Ajax with a good back pass from Elliott Manning to Bradley Morgan who showed great skill and vision by chipping the ball into space for Elliott to run onto. Elliott then passed to Jamie White who scored his second goal of the day.

Bilton Ajax Juniors 1 v 7 Bilton Ajax Colts
Juniors started strong in this match and the Colts took a few minutes to settle into their stride. Will Craggs showed some pace on the right side and soon Ben Pell had put Colts 1 up. Oliver Woodcock played with great composure in defence enabling Colts to counter attack regularly. Will Craggs scored a well deserved goal to go into half time 2 nil up.
At the start of the second half the Juniors netted a goal back, but then the goals came thick and fast from the Colts. Isaac Rabone got his hat trick, Luke Angel popped up to net 1 and Elliott Manning scored from a corner again. The score could have been a lot higher for the Colts had it not been for Jack Unett in goal for the Juniors. Another player that caused the Colts problems was Fabrizio Paglianni.

Bilton Ajax Colts 2 v 5 Lawford United Under 10’s
Ajax played some very stylish football in this match but Lawford were far more consistent and deserved the win. Lawford scored first but then gave away a silly penalty which was scored with some panache by Elliott Manning. Lawford scored again to go into the break 2- 1 up.
At the start of the second half Ajax lost their composure and Lawford scored 3 in quick succession. Ajax regrouped and started to get the upper hand which finally was converted into a goal by Elliott Manning following a pass from Ben Pell. In truth the score could have been a lot worse had it not been for Ben Smith in goal.
When Ajax are given space to play a passing game they are very good but they cannot play well when closed down quickly; if they can improve this part of their game they will be a top team!

Banbury Irish 5-2 Bilton Ajax Colts
Supplementary Cup 1st Round
This week’s result is not a good reflection of the football quality played by Bilton Colts. The first half was dominated by Bilton with a great display of passing skills between all players from defence right through to strikers. Will Craggs scored first for Bilton and Isaac Rabone hit the back of the net soon after to put Bilton two up at half time.
The second half started to see a bit of frustration from Banbury Irish with some borderline tackles going in that seemed to be overlooked by the referee. Banbury scored their first goal with a break from a fast running forward and then a second from a penalty. In my view and the well placed linesman, Bilton did score another goal but it the referee said no. Bilton seemed to be a bit disheartened with the decision. Banbury continued well and scored three more times.
For the first time in my role as coach at Bilton I had to express my feelings towards the referee's decisions. The final score doesn't matter to me as long as the kids enjoy what they do. Fairness is my main objective.
