Brixworth Juniors 8 – 3 Bilton Ajax

New season and a new league so every game will now have that feel of uncertainty about it. An explosive start to the game with a fast pitch and the ball going from end to end  repeatedly for all of the first half, Jack Bond opened the scoring for Bilton but Brixworth leveled within minutes, then a free kick from Blair Girvin put us ahead again. The rest of the first half stayed that way until just before the break when Brixworth again equalized.

The second half was very different, Bilton seemed to lose their pattern and also their nerve, Brixworth capitalized on this which resulted in a punishing six more goals against Bilton with only one more from Blair Girvin to give a final score that we can hopefully put down to first game nerves.

Bilton Ajax 5 – 2 Crick Athletic Colts

First home game of the season for Bilton and a complete transformation in the team from last week. Confidence rising with every minute resulting in a goal from Charlie McQuillan to put Bilton ahead.

Although Crick showed they were a team that can play attacking football, Bilton held them comfortably and also managed to net two more goals before half time, these coming from Bradley Allibone and Tom Jones.

To their credit, Crick showed no sign of defeat with a stronger second half, more attacking football which did give them two well deserved goals but Bilton were always the better side, excellent mid field vision from Blair Girvin fed balls to wingers Sean Rye and Tom Jones all through the second half and with goals from Jack Bond and again Tom Jones, the game was well won.

Daventry Town 2 – 8 Bilton Ajax U13’s

With six of Bilton’s squad living in Daventry, there was certainly something to prove against the home team on Sunday. Bilton showed they had control of the game from the start, keeping Daventry pinned in their own half for most of the game. Bradley Allibone opened the scoring for Bilton, followed by a Daventry Own goal and Jack Bond taking it to three before the break.

Second half again was all Bilton and with two goals apiece for Charlie McQuillan and Sean Rye, the two goals from Daventry were somewhat insignificant only made more so by a late goal from Tom Jones to make it a punishing eight goals against a few school mates.

Bilton Ajax U13’s 3 – 5 Wootton St Georges

Sunday 3rd October 2010 Alan Robinson Cup 1^st Round

First cup game of the season for Bilton and against one of the best teams in the Northamptonshire leagues. This should have been an easy victory for the visitors but from the start Bilton looked as good, if not better than Wootton.

The first half was filled with attacks on goal from both sides but Bilton just could not get the ball in the net. Finally Wootton broke the deadlock with a goal just before half time.

The second half started just as the first, Bilton again taking the game to Wootton, this time they were rewarded with a goal from Blair Girvin to bring the scores even but a following good ten minutes from the visitors gave them three quick goals to take the game away from Bilton, but Bilton were not finished, two goals from Jack Bond put them right back in it.

The last ten minutes saw Bilton trying to find that equalizing goal but the last goal went to Wootton to seal the game, great effort boys.

Bilton Ajax 6 – 2 Phoenix Wanderers

Sunday’s game saw Bilton back on their winning ways against the up and coming Phoenix Wanderers. Bilton started strong and with only a minute gone Phoenix took the first blow with a goal from Tom Jones.

The first half continued with Bilton keeping the visitors on a back foot and with Bilton’s forwards ducking and weaving through the Phoenix defense, goals from Jack Bond, Blair Girvin and Jordan Mistry had the visitors four goals down by half time.

The second half started as the first with an early goal from Jordan Mistry but Phoenix had not thrown the towel in yet, two goals managed to find Bilton’s net, but the home team were not rocked, they kept the Phoenix players pinned down in their own half for the rest of the game and struck once more with a goal from Blair Girvin.

The game finished with a comfortable win for Bilton but credit also goes to Phoenix for not being beaten without a fight.

Bilton Ajax 13 – 0 Crick Athletic

Another cup game for Bilton, this time against recent rivals, Crick.

From the start the game was all Bilton’s with Crick being kept in their own half for what seemed the whole game.

There was no doubt that the goals were going to come and the first half saw Bilton netting four times from Jack Bond, Jordan Mistry and Blair Girvin twice.

The second half was more of an exhibition match for Bilton, no fewer than nine goals, Jordan Mistry and Jack Bond getting their second, Tom Jones with Two, Jack Smith with one and Charlie McQuillan coming on as sub to score three in under ten minutes.

Solid and well organized defending left Crick goalless in a game that shows Bilton mean business in their new league.

Falcons 2 – 1 Bilton Ajax

There was nothing easy about this game for Bilton. Away game on a narrow pitch against a very strong undefeated team. Bilton started slowly with maybe too much respect given to the home team, so it was no surprise to go a goal down after ten minutes. The goal however seemed to get Bilton motivated and reward was given with a long range shot from Alex Lovelock that put the visitors even for the rest of the first half.

The second half was kept goalless for twenty minutes but finally Falcons broke through to get the goal Bilton had worked so hard to avoid.

Woodford United 1 – 5 Bilton Ajax

Just like the previous week, Bilton were playing on a much smaller pitch to what they are used to which was inevitably going to affect their game.

The first twenty minutes seemed to have no structure, too many players in too tight a space meant passing never looked an option. But finally Jack Bond found the Woodford goal to put Bilton Ahead. Woodford, to their credit always had the potential to score, and they did, just before half time which set the scene for an interesting second half.

For whatever reason Bilton found their form in the second half, Woodford were pinned down for most of it and the shots rained down on them. Goals from Jordan Mistry, Jake Richardson, Aiden Quinney and a second from Jack Bond Buried the home team to a point that they could not recover.

Bilton Ajax 6 – 1 ON Chenecks

Due to games overlapping this week, Bilton had to play their home game on an away pitch, but it did not seem to matter as they comfortably beat another new team. An own goal by Chenecks shortly followed by a penalty taken by Blair Girvin got Bilton off to an early 2 goal lead. The visitors did get back into the game briefly until Jack Bond netted his first to take it to 3-1.

Chenecks then conceded another penalty which Jordan Mistry put away.

The visitors were very much on the back foot by now and could only marvel at what has to be Jack Bond’s best goal of the season so far to take Bilton to five. Still not finished, Bilton kept the pressure on and were rewarded with a late goal from Aidan Quinney, a great win on whoever’s pitch.

West Haddon 1 – 3 Bilton Ajax

Bilton again showed their current good form with another win over a strong West Haddon squad.

The first half stayed goalless with Bilton coming close to scoring half a dozen times, but West Haddon held out and with some good attacking moves they also showed that they were too expecting a win.

The second half gave better results for Bilton, in under five minutes Bradley Allibone broke the deadlock with a goal for the visitors. Few minutes passed before Jack Bond got a second and Bilton were gaining a comfortable lead.

With about fifteen minutes to go West Haddon split Bilton’s defense with the kind of goal to show they had scoring potential so Bilton could not ease off now and so more strong attacking resulted in a third goal, this time by defender Mathew Court, a great result for a tricky game.

Wooldale Royals 3 – 4 Bilton Ajax

Today’s match was played on a pitch that didn’t do justice to 2 footballing teams, Wooldale are 4th in the league and possible favourites to go up as they were relegated last season, Bilton took an early lead through Bond, only after Harry Dimmock had kept us in the match with 2 fine saves. This goal inspired Wooldale who moved into a 2-1 half time lead with some slick football. A revitalised Bilton stormed into a 3-2 lead soon after half-time with goals from Girvin and Bond, only to be pegged back again by Wooldale. With 10 minutes remaining Bond completed his hat-trick with an accomplished finished and Bilton hung on for a superb win in very difficult conditions.

Bilton Ajax 4 – 2 Wooldale Royals

Bilton started 2011 as they had finished 2010 with another win over Wooldale Royals. Unlike their previous clash, Bilton were always the better team so an opening goal from Tom Jones came as no surprise.

The visitors did manage to equalize shortly afterwards but two goals in quick succession from Jack Bond put Bilton in a comfortable lead at the break.

No change in the second half with Bilton taking the game at their pace and with Jack Bond getting his hat-trick, it was curtains for Wooldale. But credit to Wooldale for not giving up and getting a well deserved second goal.

Bilton Ajax 6 – 0 Woodford United

The score line may show an easy victory for the home team but it wasn’t looking that way in the first twenty minutes of the game, Bilton were pinned down in their own half and looked very uneasy against an improved Woodford. Typically Bilton way of playing saw them break quickly to get their first goal from Tom Jones followed shortly after with a second, this time from Jack Bond.

With the strong wind in their favor, Bilton’s second half performance blew Woodford off the pitch, Jack Bond’s third hat-trick in three games and goals from Charlie McQuillan and Sean Rye gave the visitors a defeat they would have never dreamed of getting earlier in the game.

Bilton Ajax 9 – 0 Crick Athletic

Bilton struck back from last week’s cup defeat with a convincing win over Crick. The goal rush started within the first two minutes by Bradley Allibone and Bilton never let up for the rest of the game. Constant pressure with a solid defense against the occasional attack from the visitors lead to another two first half goals, this time from Jack Bond and Blair Girvin.

The second half was more of the same, Bilton’s harder tackling and cleaner passing resulting in Blair Girvin and Jack Bond getting another two each to complete their hat-tricks. With Charlie McQuillan and Ty Lansbury both giving good performances, Bilton could not stop scoring, two more goals from Jack smith and Jordan Mistry taking the total to nine gave the team the result they deserved.

Phoenix Rangers 1 – 7 Bilton Ajax

After the bad tempered home match against Phoenix, fears of this one turning into a grudge match were in the minds of both players and parents.

The first half was very different to last time, Phoenix came out very strong and nothing separated the two teams for twenty minutes.

Finally Alex Lovelock took advantage of a well placed corner kick to take Bilton a goal up before the break.

Playing down hill in the first half obviously gave no advantage to Bilton as the second half saw them completely control the game. With only conceding one goal, the visitors played some great football resulting in goals from Blair Girvin, Jack Bond, Tom Jones with two, Adam Cox and finally Alex lovelock getting his second of the match. Full credit to all the team for playing hard but with  great discipline.

Bilton new this was going to be their toughest league game of the season and maybe nerves played too bigger part in their performance.

Although they started well and got an early lead from Tom Jones’s goal, Falcons then went on to dominate the rest of the game with 3 goals in each half. Bilton knew they could play better but almost every individual was below their best and all were glad to see the final whistle.

Bilton put last week’s defeat well and truly behind them with a great performance against a good team. The ideal playing surface and conditions suited Bilton’s full use of the large pitch with accurate passing and consistent work from all players.

The first half stayed very close with only a goal from Jack Bond separating the two teams.

Bilton managed to get more of a hold on the game in the second half with two goals from Blair Girvin, but decisions from the referee made sure they were not going to walk it. Chenecks managed a free kick goal five minutes from the end but Bilton were not shaken and comfortably held their lead till the end.

Bilton Ajax 6 – 1 West Haddon

For the second time this season, Bilton made light work of West Haddon on their reserve pitch that made good passing very difficult with the bumpy ground.

 Bilton’s first goal came early from Bradley Allibone but they were quickly put back level when West Haddon broke through to score.

Bilton had plenty of time to find their form and it wasn’t long before Jack Bond got his first of the game followed by Blair Girvin to take it to three before the break.

The second half was all Bilton, two goals from Jack Bond giving him yet another hat-trick and Jack Smith tacking the tally up to an impressive six.
